Guglielmina Mutani is an Associate Professor of Environmental Technical Physics at the Department of Energy (DENERG) at the Polytechnic University of Turin. She holds a PhD in Energetics and has been active in academia since 1999, focusing on building energy performance, urban energy planning, and renewable energy systems. She is a member of the Urban and Regional Development PhD program and the Responsible Risk Resilience Centre (R3C). Her research includes energy certification of buildings, district heating networks, and renewable energy communities.
Education: Civil Engineering (1993, Politecnico di Torino), PhD in Energetics (1997). Teaching roles include courses on energy planning, sustainability, and building energy systems at undergraduate and graduate levels. She chairs the State Examinations Commission (2B) and is part of the University Internship Commission for Architecture.
Research interests span energy efficiency, thermal comfort, and geospatial tools for urban resilience. She leads projects like the ENEA geo-package for energy communities and contributes to international initiatives such as the PRIN ARCADE project. Awards include a 1997 Master’s Thesis Award from the Piedmont Region.
Editorial roles include Editor-in-Chief of Instrumentation Mesure Metrologie and roles in Energy Efficiency and Applied Sciences. Her work bridges technical innovation with policy, emphasizing sustainable urban development and climate action (SDGs 7, 11, 13).
