Cristina Becchio

Cristina Becchio is a Fixed-term Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Energy (DENERG) at the Polytechnic University of Turin, Italy. She serves as an Energy Program Management Advisor and is a member of the TEBE Research Group. Her academic work spans teaching, research, and project leadership in the fields of building physics, energy systems, and sustainable urban development.

Her research focuses on energy efficiency in buildings, indoor environmental quality, renewable energy communities, and post-pandemic building resilience. She actively contributes to high-impact projects such as ENTRANCE and EDUPED, funded by EU competitive calls, and leads commercial research contracts with industry partners like GIACOMINI S.p.A. Her work integrates technical building performance with social and economic dimensions of energy transitions.

Her recent publications (2022–2025) explore topics including energy communities, indoor air quality in schools and offices, building resilience to energy disruptions, and smart control systems. These articles appear in leading journals such as Renewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, Building and Environment, and Applied Energy, reflecting a strong interdisciplinary and applied research trend.

She supervises multiple PhD students, including Carmelo Carbone, Davide Fop, Giulio Cavana, and previously Carola Lingua, demonstrating her active role in academic mentorship. Her teaching spans doctoral, master’s, and bachelor’s levels, particularly in courses related to energy-conscious design and environmental technical physics.
