Dr. Guang-Yu Lian serves as a Research Associate in Therapeutic Science Research at the University of Glasgow, focusing on molecular oncology and cancer therapeutics. His work is centered within the field of cancer biology, with particular emphasis on identifying dysregulated pathways and therapeutic targets in breast and colorectal cancers.
His research interests span Cancer Research, Molecular Oncology, Breast Cancer, Colorectal Cancer, Hypoxia Signaling, and Therapeutic Targets. Specifically, he investigates the role of hypoxia in oestrogen receptor-negative breast cancer, the NFκB signaling pathway in colorectal cancer (with detailed analysis of IKKα and IKKβ), and the JAK/STAT3 pathway as a therapeutic target for stromal-rich colorectal tumors.
Recent 2024 publications reveal a strong focus on molecular mechanisms in cancer progression. His work demonstrates how hypoxia dysregulates critical pathways in breast cancer, re-examines fundamental NFκB signaling dogma in colorectal cancer, and identifies JAK/STAT3 as a viable target for stromal-rich tumor microenvironments, highlighting translational potential for novel cancer therapies.
