Guaaybess Tourya, a Professor at the University of Lorraine, is a leading scholar in Information and Communication Sciences. She serves as director of the "Visibility, Media Coverage, Interculturality (Vismi)" collection and organizes international conferences on NGO media visibility and Euro-Mediterranean communication.

Her research examines authoritarian media regimes, NGO communication, and transnational journalism, with a focus on the MENA region and European civil society. Recent publications analyze digital media's impact on NGOs and media ownership in Egypt.
In 2021, she was awarded the Mare Nostrum Prize for her work on engaged women in the Euro-Mediterranean. She supervises PhD research on topics including sport media coverage and Algerian journalism under authoritarianism, while contributing to projects like CAP-CONTROVERSES and LéA-PRO.
