Gruffydd Davies is an Associate Lecturer in the Department of Welsh & Celtic Studies at Aberystwyth University. Holding a BA, M.Phil., and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the same institution, his academic work focuses on Welsh language development in the 21st century.

- Doctoral research: Chwilio am eiriau a chywair addas ar gyfer y Gair i Gymry'r unfed ganrif ar hugain (2022), supervised by Professors Bryn Huws and Richard Jewell.
His research explores lexicography, language planning, and sociolinguistic challenges in modern Welsh. A recent 2024 oral presentation highlighted his work on Welsh poetry and linguistic preservation with Dr. Bryn Huws.
