Associate Professor Griet Vankeerberghen specializes in Western Han dynasty (206 BCE-9 CE) history at McGill University's Department of History and Classical Studies. Her research analyzes classical Chinese texts including the Huainanzi and Shiji, examining their social, political and material contexts in early imperial China. Current projects investigate Chang'an (modern Xi'an) as center of Han political culture and cross-cultural exchange.
