Gregory Pryor is a Lecturer at the School of Arts and Humanities, Edith Cowan University (ECU), specializing in painting and contemporary art. He teaches courses such as Foundation Studio, Painting Studio, and Creativity. His research focuses on environmental damage, historical art conservation methodologies, and non-traditional botanical visualization. Pryor holds a Bachelor of Art and a Graduate Diploma from RMIT University.

His artistic practice explores themes like ecological loss, colonial depictions of place, and Chinese painting techniques. Key awards include the Splash Watercolour Award (2021) and grants from the Australia Council for the Arts (2018) and Creative Arts Development Fellowship (2015). Pryor has exhibited internationally, including at Taipei Fine Arts Museum and the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
Notable projects include Practice-led Research into Painting Conservation (2019, Australia Council) and The Yilgarn Interruptions exhibition (2016, ECU grant). He has no current PhD students but has engaged in extensive residencies, including at Stour Valley Arts (UK) and Taipei Artists Village.
