Gregory Dunning

Dr. Gregory Dunning is a Professor and Head of the Department of Earth Sciences at Memorial University of Newfoundland, located within the Faculty of Science. His research focuses on applying U/Pb geochronology to determine precise ages of rocks and document geological processes in orogenic belts globally. He leads studies in regions such as the Appalachian-Caledonian Mountain Belt (Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Massachusetts, Quebec, Norway) and the Variscan Belt (Spain), alongside Proterozoic and Archean terranes in Labrador, Greenland, and the Northwest Territories.
