Gregory DeYong is an Associate Professor of Operations Management at Southern Illinois University (SIU) Carbondale, affiliated with the College of Business and Analytics and the School of Management and Marketing.

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry
Research Interests focus on applying analytical tools to optimize supply chain management, logistics, transportation, ERP systems, and operations. His work emphasizes bridging mathematical techniques with human behavior to implement practical solutions.
Teaching includes courses on computer applications in business, operations management, supply chain management, and advanced operations management.
Professional Involvement spans APICS (now Association for Supply Chain Management), Decision Sciences Institute, and INFORMS. He co-developed SIU’s APICS student organization and advises Beta Gamma Sigma, a national business honor society.
Initiatives include founding a Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics to elevate SIU’s curriculum, support regional capabilities, and attract top students.
