Gregory Crider

Gregory Crider is the Ellison Capers Palmer, Jr. Professor of History at Winthrop University's College of Arts and Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an A.B. in History and Economics from Duke University.

His research focuses on Mexican labor and cultural history, with current work on a cultural biography of labor leader Luis Napoleón Morones. He teaches courses including world history surveys, Latin American studies, and comparative labor movements, and has led educational travel seminars to Mexico, Central America, and England.

He co-edits The Latin Americanist journal and co-authored Mexico: 1810-1910-2010. Actively involved in the Southeastern Council of Latin American Studies, he served as president from 2009-2010.
