Dr Gregory Asmolov is a Lecturer in Global Digital Politics at King's College London, Department of Digital Humanities. He holds a PhD from the London School of Economics (2016), an MA from George Washington University (2010), and a BA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2007). His research focuses on digital entrepreneurship, crisis communication, participatory warfare, and digital authoritarianism. He explores how digital platforms influence social resilience, conflict dynamics, and governance in crises.

His research interests include digital crowds, internet regulation, and the role of technology in authoritarian systems. He has advised startups on digital sourcing and led projects on civil society in Central and Eastern Europe. His work has been featured in New Scientist, Economist, and Wired UK.
Notable publications include analyses on participatory warfare, crisis communication in authoritarian regimes, and the transformation of the Russian internet. He co-founded the 'Help Map' crowdsourcing platform during Russian wildfires, winning the Russian National Internet Award. He is a member of ICA, ECREA, and other scholarly associations.
