Greg Marquis is a Professor and History Advisor at the University of New Brunswick Saint John. He holds a PhD in History and Politics from Queen's University (1987), with earlier degrees from St. Francis Xavier University (BA, 1980) and the University of New Brunswick (MA, 1982). His research focuses on Canadian history, criminal justice, urban policy, and the history of alcohol and drugs. Marquis has authored numerous books, including In Armageddon's Shadow and Truth & Honour, and contributes to journals on topics ranging from legal history to cultural studies. He co-maintains the Crime and Punishment in New Brunswick website with Michael Boudreau. Active in community organizations like Vital Signs Saint John and the Atlantic Coastal Action Plan, Marquis also serves on editorial boards for Acadiensis and Social History of Alcohol and Drugs.
