Greg Johnson is a Professor of Law and Director of the Legal Writing Program at Vermont Law and Graduate School. He holds a JD from Notre Dame Law School (1985) and an AB from Cornell University (1982). His career includes judicial clerkships with the Alaska Superior Court, Alaska Supreme Court, and Supreme Court of the Republic of Palau, along with roles as a legal research/writing instructor at St. Louis University and University of Oregon Law Schools.

His research focuses on legal writing pedagogy, constitutional law, and sexual orientation law. He has testified before the Vermont Legislature on civil union and marriage equality bills (2000, 2009) and is a leading advocate for LGBT civil rights through national presentations and committee work. He currently co-chairs the Distinguished Speakers Committee of the Association of Legal Writing Directors and previously chaired its Scholarship Grants Committee (2012-2017).
Professor Johnson's professional service includes roles as special counsel to the Chief Justice of Palau's Supreme Court (1997-2007) and associate specializing in Native Alaskan law (1996). He has taught courses ranging from Appellate Advocacy to Constitutional Law and oversees the Online Learning Program.
