Clara Gimenez is an Associate Professor of Law at Vermont Law School (VLS), where she teaches Evidence, the Civil Rights Seminar, and Professional Responsibility. She earned a Licenciatura in Philology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1990) and a JD from VLS (2003). Before joining academia, she taught Spanish and literature at Dartmouth College, Colby College, and the University of Virginia, practiced law at Langrock Sperry & Wool LLP, and served as a law clerk for Vermont Supreme Court Chief Justice Jeffrey L. Amestoy.
Her expertise includes Disability Law, Ethics and Professionalism, and Evidence. She received the Peggy R. Williams Emerging Professional Award (2009) for early-career excellence. Prof. Gimenez has held administrative roles including Assistant Dean and Deputy Vice Dean for Academic Affairs (2007–2013). She actively contributes to legal governance via the Vermont Supreme Court Advisory Committee on Evidence Rules, the Board of Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (Vice-Chair), and the Regulators Committee on Legal Profession Well-Being.
