Greg Burris

Greg Burris is an Associate Professor in Residence in the Communication Program at Northwestern University in Qatar. His research focuses on cinema, race, and emancipatory politics with a particular emphasis on Palestinian media and global raciality. He holds a doctorate in film and media studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and degrees from Indiana University and the University of Texas at Austin.

His work has been published in Cinema Journal, Quarterly Review of Film and Video, and The Guardian, among others. Current research explores Palestine and the 'battlefield of time.' He previously directed the Media Studies Program at the American University of Beirut and held research fellowships at STIAS (South Africa) and NIAS (Netherlands).
