معرفی
Dr Greg Brooke is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Life Sciences, University of Essex, with a research focus on enhancing cancer treatment through understanding therapy resistance and developing novel therapeutics. His interdisciplinary work combines molecular, cellular, and computational methods in prostate and breast cancer research, and he has contributed to virology via studies on antiandrogens in viral infections.
- BSc Biology, Queen Mary London (2000)
- PhD in Androgen Receptor Variants in Prostate Cancer Progression, Imperial College London (2005)
His research explores:
- Androgen receptor signaling and its role in cancer progression
- Therapy resistance mechanisms in prostate and breast cancer
- Design of DNAzymes for gene therapy
- Fluorescent biosensors for reactive oxygen species
- Racial disparities in prostate cancer risk
Recent publications highlight his work in cancer metabolism, steroid receptor signaling, and antiviral applications of antiandrogens. Key collaborative projects include industrial partnerships for translational cancer research.
- Martin Harris Fellowship (Imperial College London)
Dr Brooke supervises numerous PhD students in cancer biology and has secured grants from Cancer Research UK, Pancreatic Cancer UK, and Wellcome Trust for projects ranging from nucleosomics to MSC-based cancer therapies. He leads the TRICSS platform for biological interaction analysis and contributes to advanced live imaging facilities.
