Grant Freeland serves as an Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School and as an Adjunct Professor at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he teaches courses on transforming public interest organizations and career/life planning. He is also a Senior Advisor and Senior Partner Emeritus at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), where he previously served as Senior Partner and Global Leader of the People and Organization Practice.
His educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Marketing from Chisholm Institute of Technology (now Monash University), a Master's in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School of Government, and an MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management, where he received the medal for corporate strategy.
His research and teaching interests span organizational transformation, leadership effectiveness, culture change, digital and agile organizations, workforce performance, and public sector management. His extensive consulting work at BCG focused on driving transformations in large organizations across both private and public sectors, including organizational redesigns, post-merger integrations, restructurings, and creating high-performance workforces.
Among his notable achievements, Grant was selected as one of Consulting Magazine's Top 25 Consultants in 2017. He has been featured as the protagonist in two Harvard Business School cases, including one focusing on BCG's efforts to improve work-life balance. Additionally, he has contributed over 60 columns on leadership to Forbes.com.
Grant is affiliated with the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School and continues to develop new academic courses while maintaining his advisory role at BCG.
