Grahame Renyk is a Continuing Adjunct Lecturer in Theatre Studies and Directing at the Dan School of Drama and Music, part of Queen's University's Faculty of Arts and Science. His academic career is deeply intertwined with practical theatre work, blending teaching, directing, and performance. He holds a B.A. (Honours) in Drama from Queen’s University (1998), an M.A. from the University of Toronto’s Graduate Centre for the Study of Drama, and is completing a PhD in Literary/Theatre Studies at the University of Guelph.
Research interests include actor training methodologies, cognitive approaches to script analysis, and musical theatre. His creative work spans directing (e.g., *How Paul Simon Saved My Life*, *Little Shop of Horrors*) and acting across Canada and internationally. He is a member of Theatrefront ensemble and has contributed to publications like *eye magazine*.
Recipient of significant awards including SSHRC and OGS scholarships, he has taught at institutions like the University of Guelph and Theatre Aquarius. His academic excellence and teaching were recognized through the Department of Drama’s Faculty Award and a Frank Knox Teaching Award nomination.
Professionally, he has performed with companies such as New West Theatre, Theatreworks, and Equity Showcase Theatre. His current research applies cognitive studies to theatrical script analysis, culminating in his upcoming dissertation.
