Professor Graham Moore is a faculty member at Cardiff University's School of Social Sciences, where he serves as Director of DECIPHer, a center specializing in interventions to improve health and reduce inequalities. He has been at the university since 2005, leading evaluations of impactful policies such as the Primary School Free Breakfast Initiative, the National Exercise Referral Scheme, and EU Tobacco Products Directive regulations. His research focuses on the effects of non-healthcare policies on health disparities and methodological innovation in evaluating social interventions. He co-authored highly cited MRC guidance on process evaluation and intervention adaptation, widely used in public health research and teaching.
He has held leadership roles including Chair of the NIHR Public Health Research funding committee and Senior Research Leader at Health and Care Research Wales. He leads mental health research in schools at the Wolfson Centre for Young People's Mental Health and co-leads health and wellbeing research within the ESRC-funded Behavioural Research UK hub. He contributed to expanding Wales' National School Health Research Network to primary schools and secured a €3m grant for a family well-being program in Eastern Europe.
Professor Moore is available for postgraduate supervision and has collaborated on high-impact projects addressing youth mental health, pandemic impacts on education, and tobacco control policies.
