Dr. Graham Cochran serves as the CFAES Associate Dean for Operations and holds the rank of Professor in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership at The Ohio State University. His professional roles involve overseeing operational functions within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) while leading academic initiatives in agricultural extension education. He earned his Ph.D. in Extension Education from The Ohio State University (2009), M.S. in Zoology from Miami University (1995), and B.S. in Biology from Marietta College (1993).
Dr. Cochran’s research focuses on organizational development within extension systems, workplace learning dynamics, and strategies for preparing youth for 21st-century workforce demands. His work emphasizes competency modeling for extension professionals, emotional intelligence in leadership, and the integration of community-based programs like 4-H into youth development frameworks. Notable projects include curriculum reforms in Tanzania’s agricultural training institutes and evaluations of Ohio’s Real Money. Real World. financial literacy initiative.
His publications span topics from land-grant mission evolution to employee retention in extension agencies, reflecting a commitment to both theoretical and applied aspects of agricultural education.
