Dr. Shannon G. Washburn is a Professor and Chair in the Department of Agricultural Communication, Education, and Leadership at The Ohio State University, affiliated with the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES). She leads departmental initiatives and represents the institution in academic and administrative roles.
Her research interests focus on agricultural education methodologies, communication strategies in agricultural contexts, and leadership development in higher education and extension programs. She contributes to initiatives like the AgOne program, designed to strengthen agricultural education and outreach.
Dr. Washburn advises graduate students, including Rachael Ramsier and Javan Owiti. Her professional activities include attending major conferences such as the AAAE Conference and North Central AAAE, reflecting her engagement with broader academic communities. She has been reappointed as Chair of ACEL and leads the CFAES Teaching, Advising, and Learning committee.
She is based at the 200P Agricultural Administration Building in Columbus, Ohio, and actively participates in university-wide extension and research efforts.
