Dr. Graeme Jones is a Part-Time Senior Lecturer in Organic Chemistry at the Lennard-Jones School of Chemical and Physical Sciences, Keele University. He holds fellowships from the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). His career spans over 25 years at Keele, with a focus on innovative teaching methods and science communication.
- Education: BSc in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool, PhD at the University of Cambridge under Professor Ian Fleming FRS
- Key Roles: Co-founder of the Chemical Ecology Research Group (1994-2006), Treasurer of European Team-Based Learning Consortium (ETBLC), member of the international TBLC Finance Board
Research Interests: Specializing in Team-Based Learning (TBL) pedagogy, particularly for physical sciences. His work includes safety protocols in undergraduate chemistry labs, AI integration in chemistry education, and microwave-assisted chemical reactions. He also pioneered molecular modeling demonstrations through his makeitmolecular outreach program.
Scientific Achievements: Notable for creating the world's largest DNA model (2002), receiving multiple teaching excellence awards including the Royal Society of Chemistry's Team Teaching Award (2021), and developing innovative chemistry experiments. His publications span chemical education, structural chemistry, and interdisciplinary medical research.
