Graciela Jaschek

Graciela Jaschek serves as Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Temple University's College of Public Health, leveraging 25 years of public health experience in community organizing, program development, and research within Latino and African/African American communities in Maryland.

Education:

Research Focus: Dr. Jaschek specializes in community-based epidemiological interventions and global health, with prior research examining adverse events and depressive symptoms among Puerto Rican adolescents. Her work bridges academic theory with practical public health applications through international fieldwork.

Teaching & Mentorship: She leads the Public Health Beyond Borders program, mentoring students in hands-on projects across Peru, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and India. Her curriculum includes foundational epidemiology courses (EPBI 3101, EPBI 5201) and specialized international action projects (EPBI 3377, EPBI 5387, EPBI 8206) at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Program Leadership: As architect of Temple's international public health initiatives, she integrates classroom learning with real-world community engagement through structured travel experiences and cross-cultural health projects.
