Mariana T. Guzzardo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development & Womens Studies at California State University, East Bay. Her research focuses on community-based health and social services for Latinx/e older adults with disabilities, resilience in disaster contexts (e.g., Hurricane María and the COVID-19 pandemic), and transnational identity among the Puerto Rican diaspora. She holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Connecticut and conducted postdoctoral work at Northeastern University analyzing qualitative data from the Boston Puerto Rican Health Study.
