Graciela Acedo is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Performing Arts & Social Justice at the University of San Francisco, where she works part-time. A distinguished ballet teacher, choreographer, and former principal dancer, she trained in Caracas and at Boston Ballet under government and Harkness Ballet scholarships. She performed internationally with Ballet Teresa Carreño alongside renowned dancers like Rudolf Nureyev.
Her research focuses on ballet pedagogy, choreography, and dance somatics, with expertise in curriculum design and competition judging. She created the ballet curriculum for Dance Attack and developed youth programs at Western Ballet.
Awarded grants from USF for pedagogical studies in Cuba, she holds a BFA in Performing Arts from Saint Mary’s College and a Cuban methodology certificate. She mentors students who have joined prestigious companies like San Francisco Ballet and Joffrey Ballet, and founded a Latino children's program at Mission Cultural Center.
