Grace Privett is a Research Fellow at the University of Oregon’s Knight Campus, working in Nick Willett’s laboratory. She holds a PhD in Human Physiology (2024) and earlier degrees in Kinesiology (M.S. and B.S.). Her research focuses on understanding how aging, training, and fatigue influence skeletal muscle mechanics, particularly at the cellular level. She develops micro-physiological systems to model aged muscle and designs therapeutics to preserve muscle function in older adults.

Research Interests: Chronic (aging, training) and acute (exercise-induced fatigue) mediators of skeletal muscle mechanics. Her work integrates biomechanical analysis, cellular physiology, and therapeutic development to address age-related muscle decline. Key topics include myosin isoform prediction, muscle fiber stiffness, and acute fatigue’s paradoxical effects on muscle performance.
