Dr Grace Livingstone is an affiliated lecturer at the University of Cambridge's Centre of Latin American Studies (CLAS). Her research focuses on US and British foreign policy toward Latin America, corporate influence on policy-making, and the impact of social movements. Current projects include studying British/European investment in green fuels in South America. She holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge, an MA in Latin American Studies from the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS), University of London, and a BA in History from Queen Mary, University of London.
Research interests include the interplay between private corporations, social movements, and foreign policy, particularly regarding drugs policy in Colombia and historical analyses of dictatorships in Argentina/Chile. She has authored three books and contributed chapters to edited volumes on Latin American governance and right-wing politics.
Her publications critique US-Latin America relations, exposing the socio-environmental costs of militarized drug policies and corporate interests. She combines academic research with journalism, reporting for major outlets like the BBC and The Guardian on Latin American affairs.
