Goretti Ramírez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Classics, Modern Languages and Linguistics at Concordia University. Her research focuses on 20th-century Spanish poetry, intellectual history, and the Republican exile under Franco’s dictatorship (1939–1975). She co-edited Volume VI of María Zambrano’s Obras completas (2014) and authored María Zambrano, crítica literaria (2004) and Representaciones del espacio en la poesía del exilio republicano español (2018). Additionally, she contributes creative work and essays on poetry, art, and cinema in international publications.
- Previously taught Spanish literature at Cairo University (Egypt) and Spanish at Brown University (USA).
- Member of the Editorial Board of the Revista Canadiense de Estudios Hispánicos.
Her academic trajectory emphasizes interdisciplinary engagement with Hispanic cultural production, particularly through the lens of exile, identity, and literary criticism.
