Gopan Krishnan

Gopan Krishnan is a Professor of Chemistry at Oklahoma State University (OSU), where he has held academic positions since 2012, progressing from Assistant Professor (2012–2018) to Associate Professor (2018–2023) before becoming a full Professor in July 2023. His research focuses on electrochemistry, biosensors, and nanomaterials, with applications in food science, drug metabolism, and clinical diagnostics. He holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut (2010) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Oxford (2010–2012).

Key research areas include electrochemical meat quality analysis, bioelectrocatalytic drug metabolism, and development of low-cost biosensors for resource-limited settings. His work addresses Sustainable Development Goals related to affordable energy and health. Notable contributions include novel sensors for insulin detection, cancer biomarkers, and meat discoloration analysis, leveraging nanotechnology and surface chemistry.
