Gopalakrishnan Mohan

Gopalakrishnan Mohan is the Senior Associate Dean of Faculty, School Director, and Professor at Arizona State University (ASU). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama (1992), an M.S. from the same institution (1987), and a B.E. from the University of Madras, India (1983). His research focuses on global supply chain risk management, healthcare operations, humanitarian logistics, web-congestion management, and product design. Mohan has received multiple awards for teaching excellence and has published extensively in journals like Management Science and International Journal of Production Economics.

His career includes faculty roles at Concordia University (Canada), IIT-Chennai, Great Lakes Institute of Management, and IIM-Ahmedabad before joining ASU in 1998. He leads research projects funded by organizations such as the National Science and Engineering Research Council and American Express. His teaching spans global operations, supply-chain management, and lean manufacturing methodologies.

Mohan’s work addresses real-world challenges like optimizing hospital supply chains, improving catheterization lab efficiency, and managing disruptions in retail supply networks. He serves on editorial boards for journals like the International Journal of Production Planning and Control and has collaborated with industry partners like PetSmart and St. Vincent de Paul.

His research activity includes grants focused on capacity modeling, information flow simulation in card systems, and supply chain optimization for retailers. Courses taught at ASU include decision modeling for supply chains and analytical decision models.
