Gopal Dayaneni serves as a Lecturer at San Francisco State University and teaches in graduate and undergraduate programs at Antioch University, Los Angeles. He is a co-founder of Movement Generation: Justice and Ecology Project and a founding member of the Climate Justice Alliance, actively supporting movement building through organizations such as ETCgroup and the Center for Story-based Strategy.
His educational background includes undergraduate studies at UC Davis and graduate studies in education at UC Berkeley. He pioneered as the first Climate Justice Fellow in the Urban Sustainability Masters of Arts program at Antioch University, Los Angeles.
His work centers on the interconnected struggles for social, economic, environmental, and racial justice, advocating for a Just Transition from extractive systems to resilient local economies. He explores the critical nexus of ecology, economy, and empire through organizing, campaigning, teaching, writing, speaking, and direct action.
His notable recognitions include:

He provides strategic leadership as a board member of The Working World and Occidental Arts and Ecology Center, and as an advisor to the Catalyst Project and The Sustainable Economies Law Center.
