Golam Haider

Dr. Golam Haider is a Junior Group Leader at the Institute for Metallic Materials, part of the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden). He leads the Twisted 2D Materials Group, focusing on the opto-spintronic properties of artificial 2D crystals.

• Education: B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Physics (University of Calcutta, India); Ph.D. in Nanoscience and Technology (Academia Sinica, Taiwan).
• Research Areas: Semiconductor Physics, Nanoscience, Optoelectronic Devices, Materials Chemistry, and 2D Quantum Materials.
• Key Achievements: Published over 40 articles in journals like Nature Communications, Advanced Materials, and ACS Nano, with recognition in media and leadership in international research projects.

He has received prestigious awards such as the Otto Wichterle Award 2021, TIGP Fellowship, and JSPS Hope Fellowship. Currently, he teaches and mentors students while leading his research group in Dresden, Germany.
