Ke Wang is an Assistant Professor at the School of Physics and Astronomy, University of Minnesota. His research focuses on experimental condensed matter physics, particularly on quantum phenomena in gate-defined nanostructures using 2D Van der Waals materials.
- Principal Investigator for CAREER: Mesoscopic Quantum Opto-Electronics in Gate-Defined Transition Metal Dichacogenide Nanostructures (NSF, 2020–2026)
- Co-Investigator for Accelerated Search for Gate-tunable High Tc Superconductivity in Twisted Trilayer Graphene (DoD, 2020–2021) and DMREF: Collaborative Research: Search for Tunable Superconductivity in Twisted 2D Materials (NSF, 2019–2024)
His work leverages ultra-high-quality van der Waals heterostructures to explore novel quantum devices in optoelectronics, spintronics, valleytronics, and quantum computing, with a focus on Dirac fluid, Luttinger liquid, and non-Abelian fractional quantum Hall excitations. Recent publications highlight advancements in twisted graphene systems, moiré barriers, valley-chiral modes, and charge-carrier scattering in 2D materials.
Ke Wang leads the Wang Group, which specializes in state-of-the-art lithography techniques for creating atomically-thin electronic systems. Their research intersects with the Materials Research Science & Engineering Center, aiming to develop functional quantum devices for emerging technologies.
