معرفی
Dr. Gloria Kim is an Associate Professor of Health Sciences at Redeemer University, where she has been since 2020. She holds a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2018) from the University of Toronto's Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy and an Honours Bachelor of Science in Health and Disease and Psychology (2012), also from the University of Toronto. Her research focuses on DNA kinetics, non-canonical DNA structures (e.g., i-motifs and G-quadruplexes), and their interactions with environmental factors like salts and urea. She currently serves on the Center for Innovations and Entrepreneurship Working Group at Redeemer.
Dr. Kim's academic work bridges biophysics and molecular biology, with publications in high-impact journals such as Journal of the American Chemical Society and Biophysical Chemistry. Her research explores how ionic environments influence DNA folding and stability, with implications for drug design and understanding gene regulation mechanisms.
Before joining Redeemer, she worked in pharmaceutical regulatory editing and lectured at the University of Toronto's Pharmacy program. She has received the NSERC PGS Scholarship (2016-2018) for her doctoral research. She teaches courses in biochemistry, health sciences, and developmental biology at Redeemer.
