معرفی
Hui-Ting Lee is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), where she has worked since August 2019. Her research focuses on biophysical chemistry, combining single-molecule FRET (smFRET), super-resolution imaging, and thermodynamic analysis to study nucleic acid dynamics, DNA damage, and gene regulation mechanisms.
- PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2010) from the University of Nebraska Medical Center
- BSc in Biology (2003) from National Dong Hwa University
Lee’s research explores how non-canonical DNA/RNA structures like G-quadruplexes and triplexes influence telomere function, telomerase activity, and disease pathways. Her work reveals how potassium ions, molecular crowding, and base modifications affect structural stability and protein interactions, with implications for cancer, aging, and viral biology.
Her recent publications examine G-quadruplex dynamics (2024), DNA-RNA hybrid structures (2022), and oxidative damage effects (2016–2020). Lee’s group has secured grants, including a 2021 Sanofi Pasteur-funded project on mRNA imaging. She teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in biochemistry and serves on multiple PhD dissertation committees.
