Glenn Jellenik is an Associate Professor of English and Graduate Director for the MA in English at the University of Central Arkansas’s School of Language and Literature. His work bridges 18th- and 19th-century British literature with modern literary theory and film studies. He specializes in adaptation studies, with a focus on pre-cinematic adaptation practices.
Recent scholarly contributions include co-editing Adaptation Before Cinema (Palgrave, 2022), which re-examines historical adaptation frameworks. His research interrogates how Romantic-era concepts of originality and adaptation inform contemporary cultural practices. Teaching responsibilities include courses on literary theory, British literature, and film & literature intersections.
