Professor Glenda Wardle is a faculty member at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences, University of Sydney. She co-leads the Desert Ecology Research Group and is affiliated with the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and the Charles Perkins Centre (Citizen Science Node).
Her research focuses on predictive ecological modeling, long-term desert experiments, and ecosystem forecasting, with a focus on drylands. Key themes include ecological resilience, species interactions under climate extremes, and applications to biodiversity conservation, fire ecology, and invasive species management.
Recent publications analyze nutrient interactions in grasslands, fire-biodiversity dynamics, and boom-bust population genetics. Her work spans global consortia like NutNet and DroughtNet, emphasizing multi-scaled ecological monitoring.
