Glenda S. Roberts is a Professor at Waseda University's Graduate School of Asia-Pacific Studies since 1998. She holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology from Cornell University (1986). Her research focuses on gender, work, family dynamics, and migration policies in contemporary Japan. She has held academic roles in Honolulu (1988–1996) and worked at the University of Tokyo's Institute of Social Sciences prior to Waseda. Roberts served as a visiting researcher at the French Institute of Japan (FFJ) in Paris from September 2017 to May 2018 and organized a conference there in February 2014 for her book Capturing Contemporary Japan.
