Takeki Sunakawa is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Economics, Hitotsubashi University. Previously affiliated with Kobe University, the University of Tokyo, and the Bank of Japan, he holds a Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University. His research focuses on Macroeconomics and Monetary Policy, with emphasis on dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) models, particularly addressing Japan's liquidity trap and effective lower bound (ELB) challenges. He conducted FFJ/Banque de France Fellowship research (2016-2017) analyzing unconventional monetary policies and forward guidance credibility.

Research Interests: Sunakawa explores macroeconomic policy under ELB constraints, estimating output gaps and natural interest rates using DSGE frameworks. Recent projects include analyzing Japan's prolonged deflation and evaluating quantitative easing (QE) and qualitative/quantitative easing (QQE) policies.

Policy Analysis: His research examines counterfactual simulations of more expansionary monetary policies, assessing how policy adjustments could mitigate Japan's economic stagnation. Collaborations include international workshops on monetary policy under heterogeneous economies.
