Glen Bowman is a Professor of History at Elizabeth City State University (ECSU), where he has served since 1999. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Minnesota. His work focuses on institutional history, student activism, and the role of athletics in higher education. Bowman established the Leonard R. Ballou Memorial Fund in 2005 to honor ECSU's long-time archivist. He is a prolific author, including his book Elizabeth City State University, 1891-2016: The Continuity of a Historical Legacy of Excellence and Resilience.
His research emphasizes ECSU's historical resilience, student-led movements, and post-WWII institutional evolution.
