Giuseppe Floccari is a Researcher at Tilburg University's Department of Finance within the Tilburg School of Economics and Management (TiSEM). His academic work focuses on the intersection of household financial decisions and macroeconomic conditions, with particular expertise in business cycle dynamics and monetary policy effects.
His research interests span household finance, macroeconomics, and quantitative modeling approaches. Floccari's work examines how business cycle fluctuations transmit through firms to workers' income, how households respond to negative interest rates, and develops theoretical models of firm competition using continuous-time mean-field games. His research demonstrates how micro-level financial decisions are systematically connected to broader macroeconomic conditions.
His doctoral thesis "Essays in Household Finance and Macroeconomics" (2025) represents his primary scholarly contribution to date, analyzing three interconnected aspects of household finance within macroeconomic contexts. The research reveals how Dutch workers adjust their financial decisions based on business cycle exposure, how depositors reallocated savings in response to negative interest rates, and develops theoretical frameworks for understanding firm competition dynamics.
