Giuseppa Pistritto is an Associate Professor at UniCamillus - Saint Camillus International University of Health Sciences. Previously, she held significant roles at the Italian Medicines Agency (AIFA), including Head of Centralised Authorisation/Post-Authorisation Offices, and served as Alternate Delegate Member for Italy to the Committee for the Evaluation of Medicinal Products for Human Use (CHMP) at the European Medicines Agency (EMA). She has also contributed to EMA’s Committee for Advanced Therapies (CAT) and coordinated critical working groups on therapeutic responses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Her research focuses on molecular biology applied to cell differentiation, particularly neuronal differentiation from totipotent stem cells for therapeutic applications in neuronal damage, and molecular mechanisms of apoptosis in chemotherapy resistance. She has taught in Bachelor’s and Master’s degree courses at the University of Tor Vergata and supervised theses in the Master’s Degree Course in Neuroscience.
Dr. Pistritto graduated magna cum laude in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Catania and attended the National School of Public Administration (SNA) for leadership training. She has affiliations with international scientific journals as an editorial board member and reviewer, and participates in national/international societies in Pharmacology and Neuroscience.
