Giulio Malavolta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Sciences at Bocconi University. He is affiliated with the Bocconi Institute for Data Science and Analytics and the CIFRA Lab. Prior to this role, he held positions at the Max Planck Institute for Security and Privacy, UC Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University, and was a research fellow at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing in 2019.
Research Interests
His research focuses on the mathematical foundations of cryptography, computer security, and quantum computing. He explores areas such as post-quantum cryptographic protocols, secure computation, and quantum algorithms, with support from grants including the CASA Cluster of Excellence for Cyber Security, the European Research Council, and Lockheed Martin.

Giulio has served on program committees for major conferences such as EUROCRYPT, TCC, and CRYPTO. He co-organized workshops on quantum cryptography, post-quantum cryptography, and theoretical computer science, including the IACR Summer School on Post-Quantum Cryptography.
