Dr. Giulio Malavolta is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Sciences at Bocconi University, with affiliations at the Bocconi Institute for Data Science and Analytics and the CIFRA Lab. His research focuses on mathematical foundations of cryptography, computer security, and quantum computing.
He teaches courses in Computer Science II and Theoretical Computer Science, and leads a research group supported by CASA, ERC, and Lockheed Martin grants. His team includes postdocs and PhD students working on practical cryptography and blockchain protocols.
Awards include the ERC Starting Grant and Heinz-Maier Leibnitz Prize. Dr. Malavolta serves on program committees for major conferences including EUROCRYPT, ITC, and CCS.
