Giulia Cavaliere is a Lecturer in Engaged Philosophy at University College London (UCL), where she has been since 2024. Previously, she held Lecturer positions at King's College London (2021–2024) and Lancaster University (2019–2021). She earned her PhD from King's College London in 2019. Her research focuses on applied ethics, feminist theory, and political philosophy, particularly exploring infertility, assisted reproductive technologies, and gender equality. She is an associate editor at Res Publica and contributes to public engagement through her work on philosophy in prisons.
Her research interests intersect ethical debates around reproductive technologies, including uterus transplantation, IVF access, and genome editing. She advocates for policies addressing inequalities in reproductive healthcare and critiques historical eugenics influences on modern practices. Cavaliere's work also examines the moral status of reproductive choices, gender socialization, and the societal implications of emerging technologies like ectogenesis.
Her articles frequently analyze ethical dilemmas in healthcare resource allocation, feminist critiques of medical norms, and the intersection of technology with human rights. Cavaliere has engaged with global perspectives on bioethics governance and emphasized the need for inclusive, democratic decision-making in science and medicine.
