Gireesh Gupta

Gireesh Gupta is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Belmont Abbey College, known for fostering a welcoming learning environment. His expertise spans mobile computing, databases, and programming. He holds an MBA in Computer Information Systems from the University of Rochester (1982), an M.S. in Biophysics (1978), and B.Sc. degrees in Biochemical Engineering (1973) and from Meerut College (1969). His research focuses on leveraging mobile technology to mitigate poverty and promote societal progress.

He has published widely on technology's role in addressing global challenges, including papers presented at international conferences such as the 2011 International Conference on Science in Society. Notably, he spearheaded the implementation of instructional technologies like SynchronEyes and Sympodium at Belmont Abbey, enhancing the learning environment. He co-designed the college's first multimedia classroom in 1996.
