Her research bridges demography, migration studies, and global health, with a focus on Chinese diasporas, network sampling methods, HIV/STIs, and public policy. She examines social determinants of health in migrant populations, evaluates network-based sampling techniques, and studies health outcomes among immigrants from Ghana and China.
Her recent work explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on immigrant networks, discrimination against Chinese immigrants in the U.S. South, and the application of network sampling to migration and health studies. She has secured major grants for projects like Dynamics of Ghanaian immigrants' health in the US (2024-2029) and Duke RDS2 (2020-2022).
