Giorgio Pietrabissa

Giorgio Pietrabissa is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography and Environment, London School of Economics (LSE). He holds a PhD from CEMFI (2024) and prior studies at Bocconi University. His research focuses on urban, international, and public economics, emphasizing inequality. He examines how public policies influence market dynamics across space and spatial disparities using quantitative tools from industrial organization and trade.

He is affiliated with the Center for Economic Performance (CEP) and the Fondazione Rodolfo Debenedetti. He co-organizes the Online Spatial and Urban Seminar (OSUS). His work explores topics like school access effects on urban structure and the welfare impacts of public housing through spatial equilibrium frameworks.

Teaching includes graduate courses at CEMFI, such as Mathematics (Fall 2022, 4.9/5 rating) and International Trade (Spring 2021). Current research projects include analyzing the welfare effects of subsidized housing in the Netherlands.
