Giorgio Monti is a Full Professor at Tilburg Law School and a Researcher at TILT Tilburg Law and Economic Center (TILEC). He holds positions as Editor of the Common Market Law Review (Kluwer) and Supervisory Board Member of the Consumer Competition Claims Foundation. His research focuses on competition law and policy, particularly in digital markets and institutional design. He is affiliated with the Regulating Socio-Technical Change group and has held a part-time professorship at the European University Institute. Monti’s work spans EU competition law, antitrust, and the legal frameworks governing digital platforms.
He leads projects like HyUSE: Hydrogen technology development and assessment and Digital Legal Studies: From regulating human behavior to regulating data, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration. Recent activities include invited talks on EU competition law, gatekeeper designation under the DMA, and legal-economic perspectives.
