Ginger Krebs is an Adjunct Professor at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, working at the intersection of choreography, visual art, and interactive media. Her research explores embodied practices, material ontologies, and surveillance through kinetic sculptures and performance installations. She has exhibited internationally at venues like Steppenwolf Theatre and the Seattle International Butoh Festival.
Krebs holds a BFA from SAIC and an MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has received residencies at MacDowell, Headlands Center for the Arts, and Djerassi. Her collaborative projects, such as 'All We Can See from Here' (2022), integrate drone technology and livestreaming to examine perception and spatial politics.
Her work questions distinctions between physical and digital realities, often using inflatable sculptures, participatory events, and generative sound design. Recent exhibitions include 'Minor Local Slumpage' (2017), featuring tactile explorations of waste and truth.
